Advertisements from 1945, the 17th year of HPAC Engineering magazine, then called Heating Piping and Air Conditioning.
1945 marked the end of World War II. Advertisements appealed to veterans returning home, those who had kept the home fires burning in their absence, and businesses working toward a more peaceful economy. Graphics were strong, bold, and direct. Many ads told stories through illustrations. A number of companies used recurring themes in their campaigns.
