HPAC 'On The Air': Riding the Winds of Change, with AMCA

May 28, 2021
*PODCAST*: AMCA's Mike Ivanovich and Aaron Gunzner discuss the global air movement and control group's challenging year and the profound industry changes still to come.

For our fourth podcast, HPAC Engineering's Rob McManamy talks with AMCA International's Mike Ivanovich and Aaron Gunzner about the global group's challenging journey through the pandemic and the related big changes on the horizon that will likely reshape the future of air movement and control in the built environment.

"There is going to be some profound rethinking of building design," says Ivanovich, AMCA's senior director of global affairs, and a former editor-in-chief of HPAC Engineering (1996-2007). "I think there is going to be a lot more attention paid to ventilation and indoor air quality... (because) there is no standard out there that governs IAQ from a purely health perspective. From odors and certain contaminants? Yes. But from a virus perspective? Not so much."

About to celebrate his 10th anniversary with AMCA this July, Ivanovich was joined by Gunzner, who became AMCA's advocacy manager in 2019. He works with the association's committees in North America to develop advocacy and engagement strategies and tactics that serve the mission of the group: To advance the knowledge of air systems and uphold industry integrity on behalf of AMCA members worldwide."
