Continuing my annual Christmas tradition of torturing HPAC Engineering readers -- which dates back to 2013, the year I began writing Clark’s Remarks -- here is my latest year-end whimsy.
With sincere apologies to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’s original creator, Robert Lewis May, songwriter Johnny Marks, all of the artists who have covered this song over the years, Mag Instrument, Inc., manufacturer of Maglite, and, well, to self-avowed rednecks everywhere!
Rudy the Redneck Service Tech
(Sung to the tune of 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer')
Techs work at Aaon and Heil and Bryant and Daikin,
Tempstar and Lennox and Johnson and Goodman,
But do... you... recall...
The most famous technician of all?
Rudy, the redneck service tech
Had a very large Maglite.
He knew that he might need it
Many thousand lumens bright.
All of the other service techs
Used to laugh behind his back.
They never let poor Rudy
Share in any beer and snacks.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say,
"Rudy with your torch so bright,
Won't you light our jobs tonight?"
Then how the techs did love him,
As he lit up every stop.
Rudy, the redneck service tech,
Your Maglite is really tops!
All of the other service techs
Used to laugh behind his back.
They never let poor Rudy
Share in any beer and snacks.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say,
"Rudy with your torch so bright,
Won't you light our jobs tonight?"
Then how the techs did love him,
As he lit up every stop.
Rudy, the redneck service tech,
Your Maglite is really tops!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Wishing you all the peace, joy, and love of the Christmas season, and a healthy and happy 2019.
