Siemens recently appointed Matthias Rebellius president of its Building Technologies (BT) Division in the United States, effective June 1.

Rebellius will be responsible for the financial, operational, and competitive success of Siemens’ U.S.-based provider of building-automation, fire-safety, security, and energy-efficiency systems and solutions. He will succeed Andreas Schierenbeck, who left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Rebellius has held executive and leadership positions with major global BT business units and other Siemens companies over the last 24 years. Most recently, he served as global chief executive officer for the Fire Safety and Security business unit in Zug, Switzerland.

Rebellius has an electrical-engineering degree from the University of Applied Science in Trier, Germany.
