During its recent meeting, the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigerating Institute (AHRI) Compensation Committee promoted AHRI President Stephen R. Yurek to the position of chief executive officer (CEO).  His new title, effective Jan. 1, is president and CEO.  

Yurek joined the organization in 2002 as vice president of policy and public affairs and general counsel. In 2006, he was promoted to chief operating officer (COO) and then to president in 2007. Previously, he served as vice president of business development and public affairs for CompassLearning Inc. and general counsel and COO for the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
