NFPA Releases Additional Code Resources

Article Tools

The 2011, 2010, and 2009 National Fire Codes sets are now available in PDF format, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) announced.

The PDF format allows users to access an electronic version of the codes after a one-time purchase fee and a single download. Documents are searchable through the advanced-search feature, which allows the matching of words and phrases. Having these materials in PDF allows users to access all of the codes anytime anywhere, without an Internet connection. All text, tables, and images within the documents can be copied for reuse, and annex material is available through embedded links.

The NFPA also announced the availability of redline editions of several codes. Redline editions are PDFs that, through the use of color, identify changes in a code from one edition to the next. The list of available redline editions is updated continuously.
