"Today, ... our focus is much broader than exhaust systems," ENERVEX Chief Executive Officer Steen Hagensen said. "We are using our background in energy-efficient-product development to create a variety of applications in many different industries. As a result, it's critical that our name evokes the full scope of our capabilities."

The name ENERVEX is derived from: ENERgy efficiency, Ventilation, Exhaust, and eXchange/recovery.

ENERVEX is introducing its new name with a targeted advertising campaign featuring a grand-prize giveaway of an energy-efficient car. The sweepstakes will be promoted in industry publications and at the AHR Expo in Las Vegas.

"We want the giveaway to reinforce the main reason for the change to ENERVEX, which is to highlight our ongoing commitment to green technology and sustainability," Hagensen said.

ENERVEX says the name change will not affect the company's operations.

Carrier Nabs IndustryWeek Honor
Carrier Corp.'s chiller-manufacturing facility in Charlotte, N.C., has been named one of the 10 best plants in North America by IndustryWeek magazine.

Over the last five years, Carrier Charlotte has increased productivity while reducing customer-warranty claims and average lead times. At the same time, employee engagement has improved by more than 75 percent. Other important considerations: In 2009, Carrier Charlotte was honored with the U.S. Customs Department's Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism certification and was one of only 11 manufacturing sites in the world to receive LEED for Existing Buildings certification.

This is the third consecutive year a Carrier facility has been honored with an IndustryWeek Best Plants title.

Carrier Charlotte will be honored during the 2011 IndustryWeek Best Plants Conference slated for April 4-6 in Atlanta.
