EMSI President to Speak at Green-Building Conferences in Asia

Ken Langer, president of Environmental Market Solutions Inc. (EMSI), a unit of Carrier Corp., will be presenting at two green-building conferences in Asia this summer: the China Sustainable Building Summit 2009, which will take place from June 20 to July 1, and GreenBuild Asia 2009, which will begin July 7 in Hong Kong. Carrier Corp. is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

An environmental and green-building consulting company, EMSI has been involved in many commercial projects in China and the United States. Drawing on this experience, Langer will present “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings (LEED EB): Profiting in Hard Times” at both conferences. The presentation will demonstrate how the new U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) rating system is a low-cost way to bring multiple benefits to building owners, including increased building performance, significant cost savings, and the ability to meet environmental and corporate social-responsibility targets without the need for large capital investments and external financing.
