AHRI Accepting Energy Star Product Registrations Until March 24

AHRI Certification Participants’ products featuring energy-efficiency criteria that has not changed since 2010 are subject to annual verification testing starting this year. Energy Star partners participating in AHRI's Commercial Refrigerator Manufacturers, Unitary Large Equipment, Unitary Small Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps, and Water-Source Heat Pumps certification programs are required to register models previously qualified through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) prior to Jan. 1 using a U.S. EPA-recognized certification body such as AHRI.

AHRI has been working with program participants who have chosen the organization as their certification body to ensure products remain on the Energy Star Qualified Product list.

Manufacturers have until March 24 to register previously qualified products with AHRI. Manufacturers that fail to meet this deadline will have to re-qualify their products.

Questions can be directed to Marc Neufcourt, AHRI manager of certification, at 703-600-0356.
