AAB Introduces HVAC’s First Wireless Airflow and Environmental Meter

AAB Smart Tools recently introduced ABM-200, said to be the HVAC industry’s first wireless airflow and environmental meter for use with smartphones and tablets.

​ABM-200 offers all of the features of the ABM-100 smartphone anemometer, plus temperature, humidity, and pressure sensors. Also, it incorporates Bluetooth Smart technology. Bluetooth Smart devices connect to smartphones and tablets over 20 times faster than classic Bluetooth devices and use a fraction of the battery power.

ABM-200 allows technicians to measure and record a variety of data, including:

  • Airflow velocity.
  • Airflow volume.
  • Dry-bulb temperature.
  • Wet-bulb temperature.
  • Relative humidity.
  • Feels-like temperature.
  • Dew point.
  • Air density.
  • Wind speed/direction/gusts.
  • Indoor vs. outdoor conditions.
  • Barometric pressure.

A free app provides onscreen guidance on how to use the device. The app generates a personalized report that can be e-mailed immediately.
