Energy-recovery ventilators

Energy-recovery ventilators (ERVs) help meet the demand for improved indoor environmental quality (IEQ) by satisfying requirements of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, and ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings. Lossnay ERVs recapture cooling and heating energy, equalize humidity levels, and remove harmful indoor pollutants. They enable users to target different zones with varying heating and cooling needs on a case-by-case basis. The ERVs have a low-maintenance energy-exchange core constructed of a specially treated cellulose-fiber membrane that prevents the mixing of inbound and exhaust air. The ERVs also exhaust irritating indoor pollutants, such as formaldehyde, pollen, cigarette smoke, dust, and carbon dioxide. Air streams are transferred and exhausted through adjacent passages in the core with minimal cross-contamination. During cold months when humidity is low, inbound air is warmed and humidified with warmer indoor air; during warm months, air is cooled and dehumidified with cooler exhausted air, minimizing the load on the cooling and heating system.
