CxEnergy 2017 Enjoys Record Turnout

May 17, 2017
CxEnergy 2017 saw record attendance of nearly 550 building-commissioning, energy-management, and test-and-balance professionals.

CxEnergy 2017, held April 24-27 in Orlando, Fla., saw record attendance of nearly 550 building-commissioning, energy-management, and test-and-balance professionals and the most sponsors and exhibitors in CxEnergy history.

Participants viewed the latest technologies, attended a wide array of educational sessions and workshops, and enjoyed numerous networking opportunities.

The 32-session technical program covered topics such as commissioning in health-care, government, and commercial settings; existing-building commissioning; data centers; controls and automation; utility incentive programs; building envelope; chilled-water systems; cybersecurity; LED lighting; data analytics; the Internet of Things; testing and balancing; finance; and updates on ANSI and ASHRAE standards.

Speakers represented companies and organizations including the Department of Energy, Rheem, ABM, ComEd, Siemens, and TLC Engineering for Architecture. More than 3,000 AIA continuing-education credits were awarded to attendees.

With 55 sponsors and exhibitors, CxEnergy’s expo hall showcased a wide variety of products and services. Offerings ranged from software, controls, instruments, and metering devices to consultative services in engineering and building management.

CxEnergy featured a commissioning-authority-certification workshop by AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), an energy-management-professional seminar by the Energy Management Association (EMA), and a test-and-balance seminar by the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC).

EMA selected a new board of directors, naming Bob Knoedler of Hanson Professional Services president.

CxEnergy is presented by ACG, AABC, and EMA. Supporting organizations include the Florida chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, the Alliance to Save Energy, the Florida Engineering Society, the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers, the Florida Green Building Coalition, the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance, The Continental Automated Buildings Association, and The Business Council for Sustainable Energy.

CxEnergy 2018 will be held in Las Vegas. Details will be announced next month.
