Aug. 19, 2014
Quietside will be increasing its personnel and infrastructure investment in North America to serve the expanding split-ductless and VRF product categories.

Samsung Electronics America Inc., the Ridgefield Park, N.J.-based provider of digital consumer electronics and information-technology products, announced today it has agreed to acquire Quietside Corp., provider of comfort products for homes and businesses.

Quietside has been master distributor for Samsung HVAC products in the United States and Canada since 1997. As a result of the acquisition, it will be increasing its personnel and infrastructure investment in North America to serve the expanding split-ductless and variable-refrigerant-flow product categories.

Samsung expects to strengthen its sales operations in North America, particularly in the business-to-business space. The company also plans to unveil a HVAC product lineup that better reflects the needs of North American customers.

Sang Lee, the founder of Quietside, will remain as chief executive officer and have operational responsibility for the company, which will continue to be headquartered in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
