The president of Acker & Associates in Green Bay, Wis., William G. Acker is an expert on energy analysis, air emissions, and water-vapor transmission and condensation. For HPAC Engineering he wrote the first article to illustrate the total costs of producing and transmitting electricity. He joined the Board in 1999.

Donald R. Bahnfleth, PE
Donald R. Bahnfleth, PE, is no stranger to HPAC Engineering, having served as editor and then editorial director from 1960-71. A past president of ASHRAE, an ASHRAE Fellow, and a recipient of ASHRAE's Distinguished Service Award, he is president of ZBA Inc. in Cincinnati. He has been a member of the Board since 1991.

William P. Bahnfleth, PhD, PE
William P. Bahnfleth, PhD, PE, is an associate professor in the Department of Architectural Engineering at Penn State University. He has specialized in the design and operation of chilled-water thermal-storage systems for more than a decade and has consulted on numerous projects. He joing the Board in 1997.

Terry M. Brennan
Acknowledged in Time magazine as being "generally regarded as one of the top 'building scientists' in the country," Terry M. Brennan has been studying buildings since the early 1970s. He is president of Camroden Associates Inc., a research, consulting, and training company. He has been a member of the Board since 1997.

Edward H. Brzezowski, PE
With more than 22 years of experience in facility management, design, and operation, Edward H. Brzezowski, PE, has received numerous state and national awards for his work for New Jersey schools. Brzezowski, who is president of Facility Energy Services Inc. in Chester, N.J., joined the Board in 2001.

William J. Coad, PE
A senior principal of McClure Engineering Associates in St. Louis, William J. Coad, PE, was installed as president of ASHRAE in 2001. A distinguished author and lecturer, he has more than 40 years of experience in the design and analysis of mechanical and electrical building systems. He joined the Board in 1991.

Kenneth M. Elovitz, PE, Esq.
Kenneth M. Elovitz is an engineer and in-house counsel for Energy Economics Inc. in Foxboro, Mass. His knowledge and experience with HVAC, electrical, and life-safety systems allow him to understand system function and performance, including interactions among disciplines. He joined the Board in 2000.


Douglas H. Evans, PE
Douglas H. Evans, PE, is a fire-protection engineer with the Clark County Building Dept. in Las Vegas, where he is responsible for the coordination and review of fire-protection approaches for major structures, including malls, atria, arenas, mega-resorts, and high-rise residential and office towers. He joined the Board in 2000.

Vice president of Aguirre Corp. in Dallas, Kenneth E. Gill, PE, has nearly three decades of experience in technical-facilities design, specializing in energy conservation and the design of mechanical and HVAC systems, including building-management systems. He has been a member of the Board since 1997.

Alfred E. Guntermann, PE
The principal of New Haven, Conn.-based Guntermann Engineering, a provider of mechanical and electrical consulting-engineering services for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, with special expertise in energy-conservation analysis and construction support, Guntermann has 40 years of industry experience, and is perhaps best known for his prescient look at energy supplies — the 1976 conference paper "The Mystery of Future Energy Prices."

Asif Kadiani, PE, CEM
Asif Kadiani, PE, CEM, is a senior mechanical engineer for Hanson Professional Services Inc. in Springfield, Ill. A Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional, Kadiani is responsible for project management and construction administration; the design and analysis of HVAC, building-automation, fire-protection, and plumbing systems; energy-conservation studies and financial analysis; and the commissioning and troubleshooting of building mechanical systems.

John H. Klote, DSc, PE, is a fire- and smoke-control consultant from McLean, Va. Previously, he conducted research on fire and smoke control for NIST. Malcolm Lewis, D.Eng., PE
Malcolm Lewis, D.Eng., PE, founder and president of CTG Energetics Inc. in Irvine, Calif., has served as the engineer of record for hundreds of public- and private-sector new-construction and renovation projects totaling more than 25 million sq ft.

A former director of the U.S. Green Building Council, Lewis is actively involved in the development of the LEED Green Building Rating System.


Joel N. Orr, PhD
Joel N. Orr, PhD, is a consultant, speaker, and writer specializing in engineering and computer technologies. He heads Orr Associates International, a consulting firm, and is a partner in Cyon Research. A former Autodesk Distinguished Fellow and Bentley Engineering Laureate, he has been a member of the Board since 2001.

The president of Cincinnati-based Boiler and Burner Systems, Glenn M. Showers, PE, specializes in industrial utility systems, with an emphasis on combustion safety and efficiency. His work includes the preparation of combustion-safety manuals for internal use by Procter & Gamble. He joined the Board in 2002.


Richard H. Stamm
The president of Industrial Refrigeration in Sandy, Ore., Richard H. Stamm has been involved in a variety of refrigeration projects over the years, including the installation of large central refrigeration plants in North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. He has been a member of the Board since 1982.

As a hospital environmental-health specialist, Andrew J. Streifel, MPH, has assisted more than 150 hospitals worldwide with matters pertaining to indoor-air quality and safe patient-care environments. The vice president and director of mechanical engineering for Bacik, Karpinski Associates Inc., Dennis J. He joined the Board in 2001.


Michael West, PhD, PE
Michael West, PhD, PE, principal building-systems scientist with Advantek Consulting Inc. in Melbourne, Fla., is a specialist in dehumidification and building-moisture control in hot and humid climates, He joined the board in 2005.

Ronald J. Wilkinson, PE
VP of Operations for Dome-Tech Commissioning, Ron Wilkinson, PE, LEED AP, is a nationally published author and speaker on building quality assurance. He is on the Editorial Advisory Board of HPAC Engineering magazine, is an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, and an AIA Continuing Education Lecturer. He wrote the U. S. Green Building Council's first training program for LEED commissioning, and was co-editor of the 2003 National Association of State Facilities Administrators' "Building Commissioning Recommended Guidelines,"and author of Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance's "Best Practices in Commissioning in Montana."

Gerald J.
