Rooftop-unit controllers

RTU-MP is a factory-installed direct-digital-control, multiprotocol controller available on Carrier's Weather Series small rooftop units. The controller enables the units to be integrated with a building-automation system via BACnet, Modbus, Johnson Controls N2, or LonWorks protocols, providing unit diagnostics and status information that can be broadcast over network communications.

BACnet controllers

The VAViH-SD BACnet controller has dual-inline-package switches that facilitate setup by enabling users to select preinstalled direct-digital-control applications. An additional binary output and universal analog input with jumper increase the controller's capacity and configuration options.

Interactive touchscreens

Through integration into the Siemens APOGEE building-automation system, the GreenTouchscreen from Quality Attributes Software Inc. translates numerical building operational data into visual information that helps users understand a variety of energy- and sustainability-related concepts. The interface can be transmitted via the Internet to various learning environments.

Siemens

Portable routers

A building-automation BACnet router, BAS Router Portable connects a laptop to a master-slave/token-passing (MS/TP) network. Because the router operates via a universal-serial-bus port, no source of power other than the laptop is required. The MS/TP port offers an optically isolated transceiver. All MS/TP baud rates from 9.6 to 76.8 kbps are supported.

Contemporary Controls

Maintenance-management software

Windows Vista-compliant maintenance-management software, ProTeus V 9.6.4 provides integration of maintenance management and building systems. It is said to be the only software that interfaces with building-automation systems from Trane, Johnson Controls, Tridium, Delta Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, and Carrier. The software supports SQL Server, SQL Express, and Oracle databases.

Remote-monitoring systems

The SCADA 3000 remote-monitoring system now is available with Ethernet capabilities. This feature allows facility managers and other building personnel to access live status, alarm history, and other advanced information from any computer within a specified network. The system comes with Windows-compatible software.

Touchscreen interface

Delta HMI is a 7-in. diagonal color touchscreen interface that allows operators to manage building HVAC systems using custom real-time graphics. The touchscreen can be mounted in mechanical rooms or public spaces, allowing the monitoring of equipment status, the setting of schedules, the adjusting of temperature set points, and the viewing of floor layouts.

Delta Controls

Building controllers

A 32-bit-based BACnet programmable building controller, MACH-ProSys provides high-speed communications, 12 inputs and eight outputs, and multiprotocol support. The controller database allows users to define up to 160 universal input/output (I/O) options on a single address. The additional I/O points are added to the building controller using MACH-ProPoint I/O expansion modules. Up to seven expansion modules can be added to each controller, a useful combination for large installation projects. The controller is able to mount directly to equipment or in an enclosure. It is ideal for routing local-area-network/wide-area-network communications to twisted pair MS/TP networks.
