Scott Arnold is the new managing editor of HPAC Engineering, succeeding Tim Baker, who left the company.

A 1994 graduate of Kent State University's School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Arnold had been senior editor since joining the magazine's staff in October 1999.

As managing editor, Arnold assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the editorial staff, in addition to maintaining his editing duties, which include many feature articles; the News & Analysis, New Products, and Design Solutions departments; the award-winning Control Freaks column; and the annual Networked Controls supplement and Specification Guide. Additionally, he has taken over editorship of the biannual Boiler Systems Engineering supplement, a publication of the American Boiler Manufacturers Association.

Prior to joining HPAC Engineering, Arnold worked for a media company serving small markets and local communities for four years, most recently as editorial director for the company's specialty-publications division.
