Papers Sought for Building Simulation Conference

Sept. 17, 2013
The conference is focused on building energy modeling, building simulation, and building information modeling.

ASHRAE and the United States regional affiliate of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA-USA) are accepting papers for the recently announced 2014 ASHRAE/IBPSA-USA Building Simulation Conference, which will be held Sept. 10-12 in Atlanta.

Organizers are seeking papers addressing the integration and interoperability of analytic modeling tools (building energy modeling and building simulation) and physical modeling tools (building information modeling). Additionally, papers describing workarounds, processes, challenges, barriers, and cloud-based solutions are sought.

Topics include:

• Energy efficiency.

• HVAC-component modeling.

• Urban-scale modeling.

• HVAC load analysis.

• Lighting and daylighting.

• Computational fluid dynamics.

• Data exchange and interoperability.

• Energy auditing.

• Life-cycle-cost and economic analysis.

• Model calibration and validation.

• Combined use of multiple tools.

• Co-simulation.

• Optimization.

• Model and algorithm advances.

• Moisture.

• Weather data.

Abstracts of 400 or fewer words are due Nov. 4, 2013. If accepted, papers of no more than eight pages will be due March 3, 2014.
