Condensing boilers

Sync condensing boilers combine stainless-steel heat-exchanger technology with modulating/condensing combustion to deliver thermal efficiency as high as 98 percent. With models that produce 1.0-, 1.3-, and 1.5-million-Btuh inputs, low-nitrogen-oxide operation, and turndown ratios of 10-to-1, the boilers can serve a range of commercial applications. The boilers' Smart Touch touchscreen control system helps users set up a synchronized green system and allows access to an onboard database of real-time operations data and performance history. Equipped with a built-in cascading sequencer for up to eight boilers, the control system allows the boilers to deliver up to 12 million Btuh of heating capacity. Standard control-system features include outdoor reset, three-pump control, night setback, hot-water generator compatibility, and password security. The boilers feature a space-saving footprint and a direct-vent design with intake and exhaust runs of up to 100 ft. At 58 in. tall and 31 in. wide, the boilers can fit through a standard doorway.

Heaters

Available in five models, wall mounted, gas-fired, forced-draft heaters offer an efficiency of 82 percent. The heaters can be installed in the same spot as many older heaters, using the same gas line and vent hole.

Energy-management system

The USE Controller/Energy Management System uses a building's outdoor and indoor temperatures to control a boiler, rather than a traditional heat-timer system that uses only outdoor temperature to trigger a timed heating cycle. On average, the system reduces fuel consumption by 26 percent.

Heat pumps

Because of their energy efficiency, Q-Pump heat pumps can help facilities save up to 50 percent on their heating and cooling bills. Able to be incorporated into almost any hydronic loop, the pumps use a four-element refrigeration system that relies on two solenoid valves to redirect refrigerant, eliminating the need for a reversing valve.

Low-pressure transducers

CXLdp low-pressure transducers are engineered to provide stable, reliable static- or differential-pressure measurement in HVAC comfort-control systems. A small housing and multiple mounting options allow the transducers to be mounted on a DIN rail, conduit, or wall. With a detachable terminal-block electrical connector, it can be installed on a panel without power interruption.

Rooftop air conditioners

Using environmentally friendly Puron refrigerant, WeatherMaker rooftop air conditioners are available in 3- to 10-ton units. The units can reach a seasonal energy-efficiency ratio of 13 and an energy-efficiency ratio of 11.2, making them American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers- compliant and Energy Star-certified.

Valves

For heating and cooling, iWorX ZV, MV, and FV Series modulating and floating actuation valves can be used in a variety of applications in which accurate control is required, such as hydronic systems, fan-coil units, and reheat on commercial terminal-box units. By accurately controlling flow, the valves reduce sudden changes in supply temperature and provide more even heating and cooling.

Outdoor-air systems

Dedicated outdoor-air systems can exhaust and supply air from 500 to 2,200 cfm, providing 52°F enhanced dehumidification. High-efficiency direct-drive blower packages are controlled by an independent variable-frequency drive for each air stream. The systems can handle 2 to 10 tons of compressor capacity.

Equipment flush

Qwik System Flush is a non-toxic, non-flammable, biodegradable refrigeration- and air-conditioning-equipment flush that is effective in removing system-damaging residual oil, moisture, and acid. The flush does not evaporate prematurely, which reduces effectiveness, or contain decafluoropentane and other solutions that can contaminate an environment.

Control device

The APR-410 control provides full-capacity modulation for all sizes of direct-expansion air-conditioning systems using R-410A non-ozone-depleting hydrofluorocarbon refrigerant. The control continuously and automatically matches air-conditioning-system capacity/output to changing load conditions. As a result, it provides improved humidity control without overcooling a space.

Flushometers

Solis Flushometers use light to charge an efficient capacitor, providing power even in rooms with occupancy-controlled lighting. The solar panel powers the unit without the need for moving parts in the waterway, creating better hydraulic performance and reduced maintenance.

Water heater

The Percomax, a direct-contact, natural-gas-fired water heater, is designed to heat water to temperatures as high as 185°F. Cold water enters the direct-contact water heater at the top and is distributed uniformly over the upper surface of a packing of stainless-steel nodules, which make up the heat-transfer zone.
