National Society of Professional Engineers Names Vice President

Christopher M. Stone, PE, FNSPE, FASCE, LEED AP, president of Clark Nexsen Architecture and Engineering, has been named 2009-2010 vice president of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). He will serve as president of NSPE from 2011-2012.

Christopher M. Stone, PE, FNSPE, FASCE, LEED AP, president of Clark Nexsen Architecture and Engineering, has been named 2009-2010 vice president of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). He will serve as president of NSPE from 2011-2012.

As vice president, Stone will work with the president, president-elect, and immediate past-president. He will represent the president in meetings with technical and professional societies and other professions when assigned. He also will serve as a spokesperson to the media, general public, government, and corporate and education entities with direction from the president reflecting NSPE policies and programs as approved by the Board of Directors and House of Delegates. Stone also will serve as a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, House of Delegates, and Budget Committee.

Stone is a structural engineer with 30 years of experience in the design and management of public, private, educational, and commercial projects. Stone has been involved in more than 500 construction projects. He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Virginia Military Institute and a master’s degree in engineering from University of Virginia.

Stone is a member and past president of the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers, a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, a Fellow with the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers, and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional through the U.S. Green Building Council.
