Former AMCA President Receives Distinguished Service Award

Pete Neitzel, former Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International president and retired vice president of engineering and manufacturing for Greenheck Fan Corp. in Schofield, Wis., received AMCA’s Distinguished Service Award, the association's highest honor. Current AMCA President Denis Labelle, executive vice president of T. A. Morrison & Co. Inc. of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, presented the award to Neitzel during AMCA's annual meeting, held in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada.

Inc. of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, presented the award to Neitzel during AMCA's annual meeting, held in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada.

AMCA International’s Distinguished Service Award is presented when someone has dedicated themselves and their career to the improvement of the HVACR industry and the betterment of the environment.

Throughout his career, Neitzel has served on several of the association’s technical committees and assisted with the development of many AMCA publications and standards. He served as chair of the Technical Advisory Committee on Sound from 1986 to 1994, chair of the Engineering Standards Committee from 1993 to 1996, and chair of the Air Movement Division from 1998 to 2000. Neitzel was elected to the board of directors in 1999 and served on the executive committee and as AMCA’s president from 2005 to 2006.

Additionally, Neitzel has contributed to the development of standards for other trade organizations, including the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Underwriters Laboratories Inc., and the American Society for Testing and Materials. He has published and presented many papers on HVAC equipment design, testing, and application.
