ASHRAE Publishes Updated Version of Energy-Efficiency Standard
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) published the 2007 version of ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings. This standard provides minimum requirements for the energy-efficient design of buildings except low-rise residential buildings. The new version contains changes made through 47 addenda to the 2004 standard. Archbishop Desmond Tutu to Keynote Greenbuild
Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a Nobel Peace Laureate, will be the opening keynote speaker for the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) annual Greenbuild Conference and Expo, which will be held Nov. 17-19 in Boston. Bishop Tutu lead a crusade for social justice and racial conciliation in South Africa as then-General Secretary of the South African Council of Churches.

New HFC 427A Refrigerant 'SNAP' Approved for HCFC 22 Retrofit Use

EGB to Return to Vegas in 2008!

Renowned green-building-industry leader and author Jerry Yudelson will present the keynote address for HPAC Engineering's fifth annual Engineering Green Buildings (EGB) Conference and Expo, which will be held Oct. 21 and 22 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
