Johns Manville Breaks Ground

Johns Manville (JM), the Denver-based manufacturer of fiber-glass materials and building products, broke ground for a new $100 million pipe-insulation plant in Defiance, Ohio, Jan. 18.

The facility, where Micro-Lok fiber-glass pipe insulation will be manufactured, replaces a JM plant in Defiance that was destroyed by fire in 2003. Production is planned to begin in mid-2006.

Vilter Manufacturing Corp. Purchased

Vilter Manufacturing Corp., the Cudahy, Wis.-based maker of compressors, condensers, evaporators, and packaged refrigeration systems, recently announced its purchase by private equity firm J.P. Kotts & Co.

Vilter's management team, led by President and Chief Executive Officer Ron Prebish, continues to operate the company.

AERCO Wins Frost & Sullivan Award

AERCO International Inc. is the recipient of a 2004 Frost & Sullivan Technology Leadership Award for “leading the way in high-efficiency-boiler technology.”
