Longtime HPAC Engineering Editorial Advisory Board member William J. Coad, PE, president of St. Louis-based Coad Engineering Enterprises, recently announced the availability of a new family of calculation programs for the design and analysis of HVAC systems.

Offered by Engineering Software International, an affiliate company of Coad Engineering Enterprises, the programs come with a rigorous electronic filing system for purposes of identity, credit, accountability, patent ramifications, and liability issues. They are available online for a one-time company sign-on fee and a monthly membership fee for each user.

HPAC Engineering Advisor Honored by ASHRAE

HPAC Engineering Editorial Advisory Board member William P. Bahnfleth, PhD, PE, a professor of architectural engineering and director of the Indoor Environment Center at The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pa., was honored twice during the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers' (ASHRAE's) 2008 Annual Meeting, held June 21-25 in Salt Lake City.

Bahnfleth received both an Exceptional Service Award, which recognizes Distinguished Award recipients “who have continued to serve the Society faithfully and with exemplary effort,” and an ASHRAE Transactions Paper Award.

Four More Years for Viega CEO

Viega, the Attendorn, Germany-based manufacturer of plumbing and heating products, recently announced that Dan Schmierer, who has served as chief executive officer of Viega North America since 2000, will remain at the helm until 2012.

When Schmierer joined Viega, the company had no presence in North America. Today, the North American operation, headquartered in Wichita, Kan., boasts 542 employees, with a training facility and manufacturing and logistics facilities throughout the United States.

Ruskin Celebrating 50 Years

Ruskin, the Kansas City, Mo.-based manufacturer of dampers, louvers, and air-measuring and sound-control products, is celebrating its 50-year anniversary.

“We are primed and ready for growth over the next 50 years,” President Tom Edwards said.
