Ingersoll Rand to Buy Trane

Ingersoll Rand, provider of products, services, and solutions related to the transportation and protection of food and perishables, the security of homes and commercial properties, and the enhancement of industrial productivity and efficiency, recently announced an agreement to acquire Trane Inc., formerly American Standard Companies Inc., provider of indoor climate-control systems, services, and solutions, in a transaction valued at approximately $10.1 billion.

The deal, which is expected to close late in the first quarter or early in the second quarter, “will create a global, diversified industrial company with projected pro-forma 2008 revenues of $17 billion,” Herbert L. Henkel, Ingersoll Rand chairman, president, and chief executive officer, said.

Nortec, Seresco Join Forces

Nortec Industries, manufacturer of commercial humidification products, recently announced that Seresco dehumidifiers, manufactured primarily for indoor-pool applications, now are part of the Nortec line.
